What is the O-Shot?
The O Shot®, or Orgasm Shot® uses growth factors to rejuvenate the vagina to treat stress incontinence and sexual dysfunction. The O-Shot® is a nonsurgical procedure that uses the growth factors from a woman’s own body to stimulate vaginal and clitoral rejuvenation. Although the O-Shot has several health benefits, it is best known for intensifying the female orgasm.
How is the O-Shot preformed?
The O-Shot ® procedure begins with a simple blood draw. Then, using a proprietary technique, the growth factors in platelet rich plasma (PRP) are extracted from that blood sample and injected into an area near the clitoris and into the area of the upper vagina that is most important for the sexual response using a patent-pending procedure.
The platelet rich plasma provides a temporary amplification of orgasm by producing vagina tissue with improved sexual function.
Does it hurt?
Because these areas have been numbed with a local anesthetic cream, patients experience little or no discomfort during the procedure.
How long does it last?
The affect can last for up to six months or longer, but will vary.
Will it work on me?
It likely will. Although every patient is different, the procedure appears to improve female sexual response in almost all patients. Thus far, almost all women receiving O Shot® procedure enjoy an increase in their sexual response, and for many the increase is dramatic.
Is the O Shot safe?
Yes. The O Shot is done in our well-equipped procedure room with a highly trained staff and is a very safe and well tolerated procedure. The method of preparing the PRP has been approved by the FDA for orthopedic and surgical use; and PRP has been used in many medical settings, including the joints, the face and in fat transplant to the breast. PRP use in the vagina has not been evaluated by the FDA.
What are the steps of getting the O-Shot?
Have a consultation with one of our sexual health providers to see if you’re a candidate. If you are, we can do the procedure that day or schedule it for a later date.
Draw your blood.
As you are being prepared for the procedure, our staff is processing your blood so it is concentrated with the growth factors in platelet rich plasma.
The area to receive the platelet rich plasma is numbed with a topical anesthetic. This takes 15-20 minutes to go into effect and keep you comfortable.
Your platelet rich plasma is injected into the specific areas of your clitoris and vagina.
After the procedure, we give you a few instructions before you go home or work. Most patients notice an immediate improvement in sexual response but it normally takes several weeks before the final result is achieved.
Can I drive home after the O-Shot?
Yes. The procedure is simple and only requires a topical anesthetic.
What’s my recovery like after the procedure?
There is no downtime to the procedure. We recommend waiting three days before intercourse or using a tampon.
What is Platelet-Rich Plasma?
Platelet-rich plasma or PRP is the watery part of your blood that has high concentrations of platelets which are the cells that help clot your blood and heal after an injury. The high concentration of numerous growth factors in PRP has led to its use in serval medical treatments including bone and tendon repair and regeneration. Although there has not yet been a large term study on the clinical effectiveness of PRP on all disorders for which it is used, it show enormous promise. PRP is successfully used in patients every day for a variety of conditions. The medical benefits of PRP appear to work in a similar mechanism with the O-Shot.
How much does the O-Shot cost?
$2,000 which is all inclusive. Please inquire about our package discount for those getting the O-Shot at the same time of the procedure.
